KRG to Distribute Hundreds of Thousands of Land Plots to Employees and Security Forces
The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has announced a major step in its land distribution program, approving the allocation of more than 15,000 land plots to members of the Peshmerga forces and their retirees.
According to a statement from the Council of Ministers, the government has also completed the verification of information for 20,000 employees and members of the internal security forces. A formal decision to grant them land plots is expected soon.
Officials stressed that employees who have already benefited from earlier rounds of the program will not be eligible to receive another plot, a measure designed to ensure fairness and equal access.
So far, around 200,000 members of the Peshmerga and security forces have benefited from the initiative. The KRG confirmed that the process will continue, with a total of approximately 480,000 land plots set to be distributed in the future to civilian employees, military personnel, and retirees across the Kurdistan Region.
