Erbil, Kurdistan Region – The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Council of Ministers strongly condemned the recent terrorist attacks targeting the Kurdistan Region, particularly its oil fields, which have caused significant damage to oil production infrastructure. The Council emphasized that these attacks aim to undermine the Region’s economic and energy stability.

In a statement, the Council called on the federal government of Iraq to take immediate action to prevent further attacks and hold the perpetrators accountable under the law.

During the meeting, the Council also discussed the ongoing financial negotiations between the KRG and the federal government regarding the Region’s salary payments and budget rights. Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani provided details on a recent agreement reached in Baghdad, which outlines steps to secure the financial entitlements of the Kurdistan Region.

Following extensive discussions, the Council welcomed the agreement and approved its implementation. Under the terms of the deal, the federal government is expected to resume sending the Kurdistan Region’s salary allocations and financial dues.
