Kurdistan Region PM Barzani Meets French Ambassador to Discuss Bilateral Ties, Regional Stability
Erbil, Kurdistan Region– Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), held talks on Monday with French Ambassador to Iraq Patrick Dureil to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and addressing key regional issues.
The meeting, attended by French Consul General in the Kurdistan Region Yann Prigent, focused on enhancing cooperation between France and the Kurdistan Region, as well as the broader political and security situation in Iraq and the Middle East.
Key Discussions
Kurdistan-Baghdad Relations: Both sides stressed the need to resolve ongoing disputes between the KRG and the Iraqi federal government, particularly regarding constitutional rights and financial entitlements for the Kurdistan Region.
Regional Stability: The officials emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and security in the region amid ongoing geopolitical challenges.
Strengthening Ties: The meeting explored opportunities for deeper economic, cultural, and diplomatic collaboration between France and the Kurdistan Region.
