Erbil, Kurdistan Region – Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), issued a congratulatory message on Wednesday marking the beginning of the new Hijri year, 1447 AH.

In his statement, Barzani extended his heartfelt wishes to Muslims across Kurdistan, Iraq, and the world, praying for a year of peace, stability, and an end to conflict.

"With the dawn of the new Hijri year, I offer my sincerest congratulations and blessings to all Muslims," Barzani said. "We pray to the Almighty that this year brings peace and security, an end to wars and destruction, and the elimination of all forms of injustice and oppression."

The Prime Minister concluded his message by wishing Muslims continued prosperity and well-being, saying, "May every year bring goodness to all Muslims, and may your days be filled with blessings and prosperity."

The Hijri New Year marks the beginning of the Islamic lunar calendar and is observed by Muslims worldwide as a time of reflection and renewal.
