Kurdish leaders have welcomed U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement of a ceasefire between Iran and Israel, emphasizing the need for dialogue and restraint to ensure lasting stability in the region.

President Nechirvan Barzani expressed his support for the ceasefire, stating: “I firmly believe that the only viable path toward lasting stability, security, and prosperity in the Middle East lies in inclusive, constructive dialogue and mutual understanding among all parties.” He extended his appreciation to President Trump and other world leaders for their commitment to diplomacy and peaceful conflict resolution at this critical time.

Similarly, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani echoed the sentiment, saying: “Restraint and dialogue are the only way forward. The region needs stability, respect for neighbors and partners, and decisions based on wisdom and responsible leadership.”

The statements from both leaders highlight the Kurdistan Region’s consistent stance in favor of de-escalation and diplomatic solutions to regional conflicts. The ceasefire comes amid heightened tensions, and Kurdish officials have repeatedly called for peaceful engagement to prevent further instability in the Middle East.
