Prime Minister Barzani Condemns Terror Attack on Mar Elias Church in Damascus
Erbil, Kurdistan Region – Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), has strongly condemned the recent terrorist suicide attack targeting Mar Elias Church in Damascus, Syria.
In a statement, PM Barzani expressed his solidarity with the victims, their families, and all those affected by the attack. He reiterated the KRG’s unwavering commitment to freedom of faith and its firm stance against terrorism in all forms.
"The attack on a place of worship is an assault on the values of coexistence and religious tolerance," Barzani said. "We stand with the people of Syria and all those who seek peace and justice."
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, which has drawn widespread international condemnation. The KRG has repeatedly emphasized the need for global cooperation to combat terrorism and protect vulnerable communities.
