Kurdistan Regional Government Holds Cabinet Meeting to Address Salaries, Martyrs' Benefits, and Employee Contracts

Erbil, Kurdistan Region – The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Council of Ministers convened today, Wednesday, under the leadership of Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and with Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani in attendance. The meeting focused on three key agenda items, including employee salaries, benefits for families of martyrs, and employee contract regulations.

The Council reviewed ongoing efforts to address salary payments for public sector employees in the Kurdistan Region. Delays in salary disbursements have been a persistent challenge, and today’s discussion aimed at assessing progress and potential solutions.

A proposal from the Ministry of Martyrs and Anfal Affairs was discussed regarding the implementation of a previous Cabinet decision to exempt sons and daughters of martyrs from marriage-related fees. The move is part of broader efforts to support families of those who sacrificed their lives for Kurdistan.

The Cabinet also examined correspondence from the Ministry of Finance and Economy concerning employee contracts tied to the development budget. The discussion included regulations on continuous service benefits, daily allowances, and revenue-related financial procedures.

The meeting underscores the KRG’s continued focus on public sector reforms and social welfare policies. Further details on decisions made during the session are expected to be released in the coming days.
