Erbil, Kurdistan Region – Construction of the Aqra-Qandil road, a major infrastructure project estimated to cost over 28 billion Iraqi dinars, is currently underway and expected to be completed within two years, according to local authorities.

The strategic road, which connects the sub-districts of Bajil and Dinarta, passes through 25 villages and is expected to significantly improve transportation, trade, and economic activity in the region. Local officials emphasized that the project not only enhances connectivity but also supports local development efforts.

Thousands of job opportunities have been created through the project, which is being carried out primarily by local labor. In addition to improving access to remote areas, the road is anticipated to boost commercial activity and facilitate easier movement of goods and services between villages and urban centers.

Officials hailed the project as a key step toward revitalizing the region and improving the livelihoods of residents in the surrounding communities.
