President Nechirvan Barzani Mourns the Passing of Stafford Clarry, a Staunch Friend of Kurdistan
Erbil, Kurdistan Region – President Nechirvan Barzani expressed deep sorrow over the death of Mr. Stafford Clarry, a longtime friend and dedicated supporter of the Kurdistan Region. In a heartfelt statement, the President extended his deepest condolences to Clarry’s family, as well as his friends in the United States and Kurdistan.
Mr. Clarry served in several key roles that significantly contributed to the development of the Kurdistan Region, including as a senior advisor to the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and as the director of Erbil International Airport. His expertise and dedication helped strengthen infrastructure and governance in the region.
Beyond Kurdistan, Clarry had an extensive career with the United Nations, serving in the Middle East, South Asia, and East Africa, where he worked on critical humanitarian and development initiatives.
