Japan’s New Consular Official in Erbil Pledges to Strengthen Ties with Kurdistan Region

Erbil, Kurdistan Region – The Kurdistan Region today welcomed the new head of Japan’s Consular Office in Erbil, Mr. Hitoshi Ishizuka, in an official meeting aimed at bolstering bilateral relations.

During the reception, regional representatives congratulated Mr. Ishizuka on his new role and reaffirmed their full support for his mission. They also expressed gratitude to the Japanese government and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for their significant development projects in the Kurdistan Region.

Mr. Ishizuka emphasized Japan’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with the Kurdistan Region across various sectors, including economic and cultural exchanges. He highlighted the importance of continued collaboration to foster mutual growth and stability.

Japan has been a key partner in the Kurdistan Region, with JICA implementing numerous infrastructure and humanitarian projects over the years. The meeting underscored both sides’ dedication to further strengthening their strategic partnership.
