Kurdistan Region PM Masrour Barzani Hails Workers on International Labor Day

Erbil, Kurdistan Region – On the occasion of International Workers' Day, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) extended his congratulations to workers in Kurdistan, Iraq, and worldwide, commending their vital role in reconstruction and development efforts.

In his official message, Barzani praised the contributions of laborers in building Kurdistan’s infrastructure and driving its economic progress. He emphasized the government’s ongoing commitment to protecting workers' rights, improving their living standards, and ensuring safe working conditions.

“We stand with reverence and appreciation before the efforts of Kurdistan’s workers, who have played a key role in the region’s urban and developmental growth,” Barzani stated. He reaffirmed the KRG’s dedication to upholding labor rights, occupational safety, and legal protections for all workers.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the government’s past and future efforts to enhance workers' welfare, vowing to continue improving their professional and living conditions.

“We wish all workers continued well-being and reaffirm our commitment to safeguarding their rights,” Barzani concluded.

International Workers' Day, observed annually on May 1, celebrates the achievements of laborers and advocates for their rights worldwide. The KRG’s message aligns with this year’s global calls for fair wages, safe workplaces, and social justice for workers.
