Kurdistan’s Leadership Celebrates 31st Anniversary of Gulan Magazine

Erbil, Kurdistan Region – Prominent political leaders and institutions in the Kurdistan Region marked the 31st anniversary of Gulan Magazine with congratulatory messages, praising its role in Kurdish journalism and its commitment to national and democratic values.

In his message, President Masoud Barzani commended Gulan Magazine for serving as a platform for diverse political perspectives in Kurdistan and beyond. He highlighted its adherence to national principles, promotion of coexistence, and contributions to intellectual stability through honest dialogue.

"Gulan Magazine has been a free and open media outlet, addressing the demands of the people of Kurdistan and proposing realistic solutions to challenges," Barzani stated. He wished the magazine continued success in upholding its principles.

KRG President Nechirvan Barzani described Gulan as a trailblazer in Kurdish media, emphasizing its role in promoting democratic values and enlightenment.

"I hope Gulan remains committed to its courageous and professional path, advancing freedom and democracy," he said.

KDP Vice President Masrour Barzani praised Gulan for its 30 years of professional journalism, truth-telling, and dedication to Kurdish language and culture.

"Your efforts in defending the constitutional achievements of the Kurdistan Region are deeply appreciated," he said, expressing hope for the magazine’s continued progress.

The KDP’s Political Bureau praised Gulan for maintaining journalistic integrity and fostering informed political discussions.

"Gulan has transcended local boundaries by engaging with international experts while staying true to its national mission," the statement read.

Fazil Mirani, head of the KDP Political Bureau’s administrative body, noted Gulan’s evolution since its founding in 1994, calling it a vital part of Kurdistan’s media landscape.

The KDP Leadership Office added that Gulan has set a benchmark for journalism in the Kurdistan Region, balancing critical analysis with constructive dialogue.

Since its launch in 1994, Gulan Magazine has been a key voice in Kurdish media, known for its in-depth political analysis and commitment to national unity.
