Salahaddin University-Erbil to Host First International Conference on Climate Change Action
Erbil, Kurdistan Region – Salahaddin University-Erbil (SUE) is set to host the First International Conference on Climate Change Action: Challenges and Solutions (ICCCSUE 2025) on April 8–9, drawing global experts to address pressing environmental challenges in the Kurdistan Region and worldwide.
The conference will bring together 163 researchers from 15 countries, representing 29 universities across Iraq, the Kurdistan Region, the UK, UAE, Tunisia, Jordan, Greece, Bangladesh, Turkey, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the Netherlands, Iran, and Syria.
A Platform for Global Collaboration
ICCCSUE 2025 aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue among scientists, policymakers, and industry leaders to tackle climate change’s most urgent issues. Key discussion topics include:
- Climate impacts on water resources, food security, biodiversity, and weather patterns
- Sustainable energy and green technology solutions
- Adaptation strategies for vulnerable regions
- The role of policy and innovation in climate mitigation
- Focus on Kurdistan’s Environmental Challenges
A special segment of the conference will highlight the Kurdistan Region’s unique environmental landscape, with expert panels examining local climate risks and region-specific solutions.
