Kurdistan Region and Turkey Strengthen Energy Ties in High-Level Meeting
Erbil, Kurdistan Region – On Sunday, Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani welcomed Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar and his delegation to a high-level meeting aimed at bolstering cooperation between the Kurdistan Region and Turkey. The discussions, held in the Kurdistan Region, focused on enhancing bilateral relations, particularly in the energy sector, and addressing challenges to ensure smoother energy exports.
The meeting underscored the commitment of both sides to strengthen their partnership and resolve obstacles hindering the export of oil from the Kurdistan Region through the Turkish port of Ceyhan. Prime Minister Barzani and Minister Bayraktar emphasized the importance of taking decisive steps to facilitate more efficient energy exports, which would benefit both the Kurdistan Region and Turkey’s energy interests.
