ERBIL — Iraq’s National Security Service on Monday announced the capture of 11 militants belonging to the Islamic State (IS) in the northern province of Nineveh.

The service said in a statement that the insurgents were captured during operations in different areas in and around Mosul.

Iraqi Intelligence Service had previously collected information about the suspect, the statement read, noting that the detainees operated within the IS’s Diwan Jund and Diwan Ghana’em.

They have already admitted involvement in terrorist attacks against civilians and planting IEDs to target security forces, according the statement.
