ERBIL — The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) negotiating team will visit Baghdad next week to finalize the budget negotiations and strike an agreement.

The negotiating team has been leading rounds of talks with the federal government, political factions, and parliamentary blocs for weeks now, hoping to address the prolonged budgetary disputes between the regional and federal governments.

The KRG has already expressed commitment to its obligations articulated in Iraq’s 2021 budget bill in return for its financial entitlements.

The bill is being debated by the Iraqi parliament now, which is planning to ratify it before the end of February.

According to Kurdistan 24, the next week’s talks are expected to be the final round of negotiations.
