ERBIL - Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani has offered condolences over the passing of mother of Mazloum Abdi, the commander-in-chief of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

"'My condolences to @MazloumAbdi and his family for the sad loss of his mother. Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time," PM Barzani wrote on Twitter.

Barzani extended his condolences and wished comfort to Abdi's family.

Khazna Hajj Hussein passed away on Tuesday at the age of 83 in Kobani, northern Syria, reportedly of a heart attack.
