ERBIL — Kurdish prominent leader and the president of Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), Masoud Barzani, wished to people all around the world a happy new year.

“I wish the people of Kurdistan, Iraq and the rest of the world a joyful, prosperous, and most importantly healthy New Year,” the Kurdish leader said in a statement.

“I profoundly hope that the coming year will bring more peace and happiness to the world,” he added.

This year in Kurdistan and around the world celebrations and public events have been cancelled due to the pandemic. However, the major cities in Kurdistan are decorated to welcome the new year.
