ERBIL - Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani has welcomed a campaign by the youth to plant one million oak trees.

"I’m delighted to see our youth taking the initiative to create a greener Kurdistan with the campaign to plant a million oak trees," PM Barzani wrote on Twitter.

He further reminded that protecting the environment is one of his government's top priorities, reaffirming his "full" support for the campaign.

"Protecting the environment is an important part of the cabinet’s agenda and you have our full support. I hope to see more projects like this."
