ERBIL — Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani has wished his US counterpart and the First Lady quick recovery after they tested positive for COVID-19.

“My thoughts and prayers are with U.S. President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump,” Barzani wrote on Twitter on Friday. “I wish them and all infected with coronavirus a quick and full recovery.”

Trump announced earlier the day that he and the First Lady had contracted the virus, and that they would begin quarantine and recovery process immediately.

“We will get through this TOGETHER,” he said.

This comes after reports of White House adviser Hope Hicks, who had traveled with Trump this week on Air Force One, had similarly tested positive
