ERBIL — Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Thursday received his Iraqi counterpart, Mustafa al-Kadhimi, at the Erbil International Airport.

This is Kadhimi’s first official visit to the Kurdistan Region since he has taken office earlier this year.

The Iraqi prime minister is set to meet with top Kurdish officials in Erbil before paying visits to Duhok and Sulaymaniyah.

A source from Kadhimi’s office told BasNews on Wednesday that the ongoing talks over the Erbil-Baghdad disputes as well as the upcoming election are the issues which will top Iraqi prime minister’s agenda in Kurdistan.
