IS Kills Hashd al-Shaabi Commander in Diyala
ERBIL — Islamic State (IS) militants carried out multiple attacks in Diyala province, east of Iraq, and killed a commander of the Iran-backed Shia militia of Hashd al-Shaabi.

A source from Diyala province told BasNews that the IS jihadists carried out at least two separate attacks on Sunday night, targeting the army and Hashd al-Shaabi militias.

The assaults led to fierce fire exchanges outside Tuz Khurmatu and Gulala (Jalawla), the source stated.

“A senior commander of Hashd al-Shaabi, known as Hussein Razaq, was killed during the clash… there were casualties among the IS jihadists too, but the numbers are not yet confirmed.”
