Lebanon's ambassador to Germany designated new prime minister
Adib, 48, who has been serving as the ambassador to Berlin since 2013, was chosen after he secured 90 votes of the 128-member parliament, the Voice of Lebanon Radio reports.
The new government will need to lead the country through multiple crises. The announcement comes more than three weeks after prime minister Hassan Diab resigned in the wake of a massive blast in the capital Beirut that killed more 180 and injured 6,000 others.
