ERBIL - An Islamic State (IS) attack in the disputed Kurdish province of Kirkuk resulted in the killing and wounding of seven Iraqi policemen, a statement confirmed.

Speaking to BasNews, Daquq Mayor Lwiss Khizhir pointed out that the incident took place on Monday night in the village of Arab Ko where the jihadists attacked the federal police forces.

At least four policemen were killed while three others were wounded in the attack, he said.

Moreover, at least three civilians were kidnapped and another was wounded by the IS militants in the village of Sit Safa, Khanaqin, a local Kurdish official told Kurdistan 24.
