ERBIL-Baghdad Talks to Resume Next Week
ERBIL — The regional government in Erbil and the federal government in Baghdad will resume negotiations next week to address their prolonged disputes.

Fawzi Hariri, Chief of Staff to the Kurdistan Region Presidency, said they had discussed the Erbil-Baghdad relations during a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi in Washington, where they accompany the premier on his first visit to Washington since he has assumed office.

According to Hariri, PM Kadhimi has encouraged the KRG delegation to visit counterparts in Baghdad next week and resume the negotiations in search for a solution to their outstanding differences, especially the financial disputes.

He also thanked the Kurdish delegation and the Kurdish political leadership for supporting his cabinet in Baghdad.

Kadhimi is now in Washington where he met with President Trump of the United States and other top officials to discuss the future of US-Iraq relations.
