ERBIL - The total number of coronavirus cases in Turkey has surpassed 250,000, the country's health ministry reported on Monday.

With 1,233 new infections confirmed since yesterday, the coronavirus tally has now reached 250,542, Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca wrote on Twitter.

Out of the total confirmed cases, 231,971 patients have so far recovered from COVID-19 while 5,996 others lost their lives, according to the latest updates by the health ministry.
