ERBIL - At least 277 other infections with coronavirus have been detected across the Kurdistan Region in the past 24 hours, the health ministry said on Saturday.

A total of 202 people were found positive for COVID-19 in the capital Erbil, three in Garmiyan area, 23 in Sulaimaniya, and 49 others were in Duhok province, the ministry said in a statement.

Moreover, the novel virus has also claimed the lives of seven people in Erbil, two in Garmiyan, and another in Sulaimaniya.

The KRG has recorded 14,134 cases since early March, out of which, 9,177 patients have been discharged from the hospital and 551 others have lost their lives.
