ERBIL — Kurdish prominent leader Masoud Barzani has issued a message on the occasion of Eid al-Adha in which he encouraged the political parties in Kurdistan Region to meet and find a solution to their disputes “for the paramount interests of the nation”.

“We are marking this Eid while our people are facing major political, economic, and health challenges. These challenges are the source of issues which target political stability and the welfare of the people of Kurdistan,” Barzani, the president’s of ruling Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), said in his message.

He emphasized that the political parties in Kurdistan are required to work together and help the nation pass this challenging time.

“We should remember that unity can help resolve the problems. Major achievements have always been made through joint works [by Kurdistani factions].”

The Kurdish leader also thanked the health workers, Peshmerga and security forces, and the media for working hand in hand to fight the COVID-19 outbreak.
