Iraqi Troops Kill Five IS Jihadists Outside Baghdad
Security Media Cell of Iraq’s Interior Ministry said in a statement that the operation was carried out in Maamra al-Zaidan village in southwest of Baghdad, where a group of IS jihadists were surrounded and killed.
It said the jihadists were discovered to be part of a suicide unit.
Two members of the Iraqi armed forces and intelligence were also killed during a fire exchange with the militants, the statement added.
US-led Global Coalition supported the operation with drones.
