ERBIL - Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani has sent a congratulatory message to Assyrian, Chaldean, and Syriac Christians on the occasion of Akitu, praising their role in preserving the culture of peaceful coexistence in the region.

He reminded that the Kurdistan Region has always been a safe haven for different components and peaceful coexistence and that the ethnic and religious groups have been part of the efforts to protect this culture.

Apart from happiness on this occasion, Barzani also wished Assyrian, Chaldean, and Syriac Christians safety as the Kurdistan Region has also been affected by the new coronavirus.
