ERBIL — Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani urges people to stay united and cooperate with the government in order to overcome the new coronavirus spread.

“We must all work together to keep Kurdistan as safe as possible from coronavirus,” PM Barzani wrote on Twitter while sharing his Saturday speech on the situation.

“We have enforced strict controls at airports and borders and restricted movement within and between cities. Stay at home, reduce physical contact and wash hands regularly,” he advised the people.

In his speech, PM Barzani said his government will spare no efforts in fighting the pandemic disease and that they are responsible for the lives of the people.

“We have an obligation to you, and you have an obligation to yourselves, your family and other citizens. But if we all — as the government and citizens - across the Kurdistan Region, help each other and abide by the public advice, we can stop the further spread of this pandemic. The sooner we can do that, the quicker we can restore order,” he said.
