Pentagon Blames Pro-Iranian Militias for Rocket Attack in Iraq
ERBIL - The Pentagon has accused pro-Iranian militia groups in Iraq of being behind Wednesday's rocket attack on Taji Camp which resulted in the killing of one British and two US troops.

"Yesterday’s attack by Iranian backed Shia militia groups, consisted of multiple indirect fires that originated from a stationary platform and was clearly targeting coalition and partnered forces on Camp Taji," Esper told reporters, as cited by Reuters.

"Let me be clear, the United States will not tolerate attacks against our people, our interests, or our allies," Esper added.

Earlier on Wednesday, some 15 rockets were fired at Taji military base in Iraq which also injured 12 military personnel, according to reports.

Esper, further made it clear that the US has all the options, and that they are in touch with their partners to deal with the incident.

"All options are on the table as we work with our partners to bring the perpetrators to justice and maintain deterrence."
