ERBIL - At least five new cases of coronavirus were recorded in three Iraqi cities on Tuesday, the country's Ministry of Health said.

The ministry explained that one person was found infected with coronavirus in Karbala, and that the other two were in Najaf and Wasit.

This brings the total number of people who tested positive for the novel virus in Iraq to 31, while no one has so far died of coronavirus in the country.

It was not clear if the persons had returned from neighboring Iran, but the coronavirus-hit country has been the source for the previous cases in Iraq.
