ERBIL — A delegation from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) is due to arrive in Baghdad today for negotiations over additional funds for the construction of five dams.

KRG’s Agriculture and Water Resources Minister Begard Talabani will lead the delegation. Representatives of ministries of trade and finance are said to be accompanying her during the trip.

According to the information obtained by BasNews, Talabani will present proposals to Baghdad, seeking funds from the federal government to build five dams in Kurdistan and renovate two existing dams.

Other issues, including water resources in general and the financial dues of Kurdish farmers will also be discussed during a range of meetings organized for the Kurdish delegation.
