Kurdistan President, Senior British Military Delegation Discuss Continuous IS Threat
During the meeting, Barzani reiterated that terror and the resurgence of the Islamic State (IS) is a genuine danger that poses a threat to the stability of Iraq and the region, according to the readout of the meeting.
He also emphasized that Iraq and Kurdistan Region still need the cooperation and support from the global coalition in confronting IS.
Barzani and Lorimer also spoke about the de-escalation of tensions, the Baghdad-Erbil relations, and the relations between Kurdistan Region and the United Kingdom, and the continuation of the British support for Iraq and the Kurdistan Region was highlighted.
The British Ambassador to Iraq and Kurdistan Region’s Vice Presidents, the British Consul General in Erbil and a group of British military officers also attended the meeting.
