Kurdistan Parliament to Vote on ‘Reform Bill’ on Thursday
Lawmakers debated the bill for more than 12 hours on Monday as part of the second reading of the bill.
Kurdistan 24 reported that relevant parliamentary committees are scheduled to meet with representatives from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) today to finalize the bill based on the lawmakers’ Monday debate.
Parliament speaker has officially notified the members to attend a session at 11:00 am local time (+3GMT) on Thursday to vote on the bill.
The Reform Bill is proposed by the Kurdistan Regional Government. It hopes to provide more certainty and accountability on salaries, pensions, and allowances for public servants.
