The Federal Ministry of Interior, demanded in a statement published on its website on Saturday , to hand over the Vice President Tariq al- Hashimi and a number of his escorts.

The statement demanded Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) , to carry out the Iraqi High Court and the investigative judge’s orders to hand over al- Hashimi and his escorts according to Article 4/ terrorism .

The President of Kurdistan Region Masoud Barzani , during an interview broadcasted by BBC Persian TV , said that the Judicial Council in the Kurdistan Region is independent and not linked to Baghdad’s Judicial Council, stressing that al- Hashimi’s case is political and requires a political solution.
