FACTBOX-Security developments in Iraq, January 7
Following are security developments in Iraq as of 0800 GMT on Saturday.

MAHMUDIYA - A roadside bomb targeting Shiite pilgrims killed at least two people and wounded 20 others in the town of Mahmudiya, about 30 km (20 miles) south of Baghdad, a local police source said.

BAQUBA - A bomb attached to a car carrying Shiite pilgrims killed one passenger and wounded three others when it exploded in the city of Baquba, 65 km (40 miles) northeast of Baghdad, police said.

BALAD - Gunmen attacked an army patrol and wounded two soldiers late on Friday in Balad, 80 km (50 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

TARMIYA - Two militants were killed when a bomb they were trying to plant exploded on Friday near a main road used by Shiite pilgrims in Tarmiya, 25 km (15 miles) north of Baghdad, the Baghdad security office said.
