President of the Kurdistan Region Receives Canadian Parliamentary Delegation to Discuss Bilateral Relations
President of the Kurdistan Region received a delegation from the Canada–Kurdistan Friendship Group of the Parliament of Canada, which included Ahmad Hussen, Chair of the House of Commons Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development, and Member of Parliament Ziad Aboultaif.
The meeting, attended by several members of the Kurdistan Diaspora Confederation in Canada, focused on strengthening relations between the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and Canada. Discussions also highlighted the important role of the Kurdish diaspora in fostering closer ties and expanding cooperation between the Kurdistan Region and Canada.
The Canadian delegation expressed admiration for the peaceful coexistence among the diverse communities of the Kurdistan Region and stressed the importance of preserving stability. They also reaffirmed Canada's continued support for the people of Kurdistan.
The meeting further addressed the latest political and security developments in the region, with both sides exchanging views on issues of mutual interest and emphasizing the importance of continued dialogue and cooperation.
