US Strikes Iranian Facilities After Naval Clash in Strait of Hormuz

The United States Military announced that it had carried out strikes on Iranian military facilities following what it described as Iranian attacks on three US Navy destroyers transiting the Strait of Hormuz. According to US officials, American forces intercepted the attacks and responded with targeted military action against Iranian positions.

US President Donald Trump downplayed the scale of the operation, describing the strikes as a “love tap” during remarks to reporters, while emphasizing that the United States would protect its naval forces and regional interests.

Meanwhile, authorities in the United Arab Emirates said their air defense systems were actively engaging Iranian missile and drone threats amid rising regional tensions. Officials did not immediately provide details regarding casualties or damage.

Iranian state media reported that Iranian armed forces exchanged fire with “the enemy” on Qeshm Island, located near the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most strategically important oil shipping routes.
