Kurdistan Region President Meets Türkiye’s Defense Minister at Antalya Diplomacy Forum
On the second day of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, the Nechirvan Barzani held a meeting with Yaşar Güler to discuss regional developments and efforts to maintain peace and stability in the Middle East.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed recent developments in the region and their potential implications. They stressed the importance of upholding the current ceasefire and strengthening regional efforts aimed at preserving stability and preventing further escalation.
The Turkish defense minister praised the Kurdistan Region for keeping itself away from regional conflicts and emphasized the need for broader coordination among regional actors to maintain peace and stability. He also commended the role played by the Kurdistan Region President in supporting these efforts.
In response, the Kurdistan Region President reiterated that the Kurdistan Region will continue to serve as a pillar of peace and stability in the region. He also expressed his desire to further strengthen relations with neighboring countries based on mutual interests and constructive cooperation.
Discussions also covered relations between Türkiye, Iraq, and the Kurdistan Region, as well as prospects for enhancing cooperation among the three sides.
