Prime Minister Masrour Barzani had a video call with the United States Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum, who also serves as Chairman of the White House National Energy Dominance Council.

They discussed the energy outlook for the Kurdistan Region and the positive role of American companies in supporting that industry. They also exchanged views on the security and economic situation in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq in light of the ceasefire between the United States and Iran.

Secretary Burgum expressed his appreciation for the Prime Minister’s leadership and collaboration on energy matters.

Prime Minister Barzani reiterated the Kurdistan Region’s gratitude for the United States' continued support and underlined the need for further assistance in protecting energy infrastructure and oil companies operating in the Kurdistan Region from terrorists attacks. He also stressed that the Kurdistan Region remains committed to peace and prosperity across the Middle East.
