Israel Strikes Tehran and Beirut as Iran Fires Missiles at US-UK Base

The Middle East witnessed a sharp escalation in tensions as Israel launched a new wave of military strikes targeting locations in both Beirut and Tehran, while regional powers and international actors responded to the rapidly developing situation.

According to reports, Israeli forces carried out fresh airstrikes on what they described as “regime targets” in Tehran, the capital of Iran, as well as positions in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. Israeli officials stated that the attacks were aimed at military infrastructure linked to Iranian-backed groups operating in the region.

Meanwhile, the United States announced a temporary easing of sanctions on certain Iranian oil transactions. Analysts believe the move may be aimed at stabilizing global energy markets amid growing regional instability and concerns about disruptions to oil supply.

In another development, Saudi Arabia reported that its air defense systems intercepted more than 20 drones over the eastern region of the kingdom. Authorities did not immediately identify the source of the drones, but officials suggested they may be linked to ongoing regional hostilities.

Adding to the escalation, Iran reportedly launched ballistic missiles targeting a joint United States–United Kingdom military base in the region. Details regarding damage or casualties have not yet been confirmed.

The series of developments highlights the increasingly volatile situation across the Middle East, with multiple actors involved and fears growing that the conflict could widen further.
