Over 680,000 Beneficiaries Paid Through MyAccount
Over 680,000 Public Employees to Receive January Salaries Digitally Through KRG’s MyAccount Program
The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Ministry of Finance and Economy has announced that more than 680,000 civil servants, pensioners, members of the security forces, and families of martyrs will receive their January salaries digitally through the government’s financial inclusion initiative, MyAccount.
According to the ministry, a total of 680,131 beneficiaries across the Kurdistan Region are covered in the January salary cycle. Erbil accounts for 336,228 recipients, while 172,119 beneficiaries are in Slemani and 171,784 in Duhok.
The ministry noted that the rollout marks another step in expanding digital salary payments across the region. To date, more than 900,000 public sector beneficiaries have registered for bank accounts under the MyAccount program.
Officials added that nearly 550 automated teller machines (ATMs) have been deployed throughout the Kurdistan Region to ensure citizens have round-the-clock access to their funds.
The MyAccount program was launched in 2023 by Prime Minister Masrour Barzani as part of the ninth cabinet’s reform agenda aimed at modernizing banking services and strengthening financial inclusion in the region.
