We are closely monitoring the latest developments in Syria and Rojava with deep concern. In these sensitive and critical circumstances, it is imperative that all parties act responsibly, with restraint and composure, and avoid actions driven by emotion. Any harm to our brothers and sisters in the western regions is wholly unacceptable under any circumstances.

We have exerted every possible effort to prevent suffering among our brothers and sisters in Rojava. At the same time, there exists a serious and growing risk of the resurgence of ISIS and other terrorist groups, which poses a grave threat to stability and security across the region.

We call upon the international community and its partners to assume their responsibilities and take immediate action to halt the escalation of tensions and violence, declare a comprehensive ceasefire, and pursue the resolution of all issues through peaceful means and constructive dialogue.
