Completion of Greater Zab Bridge, Kurdistan's Largest, Marks Major Infrastructure Milestone

The Greater Zab Bridge, the largest bridge in the Kurdistan Region, has officially been completed, significantly enhancing transportation between the provinces of Erbil and Duhok. The bridge is a key component of the Rovia–Gopal dual highway project, which aims to improve connectivity and reduce travel times across the region.

Spanning 928 meters in length, the bridge stands 10 meters high, with a foundation extending 10 meters below ground. The bridge features two lanes, each 15 meters wide, allowing for smoother traffic flow. As a result, the journey between Erbil and Duhok has been shortened by 40 minutes, providing a major convenience for travelers and commercial transport alike.

The Kurdistan Regional Government, under its ninth cabinet, has prioritized infrastructure development as part of its broader vision for economic growth. The completion of the Greater Zab Bridge is a testament to the government's commitment to modernizing the region, with plans for further projects already underway.
