President Masoud Barzani has issued a message on the seventy-fifth anniversary of the founding of the Kurdistan Democratic Party.

The text of President Barzani's message:

In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

On the occasion of the seventy-fifth anniversary of the founding of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, I extend my warmest congratulations to all the cadres, members and supporters of the party. I congratulate the proud family of the martyrs and the heroic peshmergas and all classes and strata of Kurdistan and wish them pride and happiness.

The founding of the party on the 16th of August was a historic necessity to continue the struggle and extermination of the Kurdish people in those difficult moments of the enemy and the occupiers of Kurdistan with all their might and efforts to suppress the Kurdish revolution and uprising. Since its inception, the party has been a tool for achieving the democratic, national and ethnic goals of the Kurdistan people, and at the same time, together with other Kurdish and patriotic forces, it has been instrumental in defending all rights and interests in Kurdistan.

The struggle of the party is an important and influential factor in the history of the struggle and prosperity of the Kurdistan people, and it is full of ups and downs. At all stages, the party has been a tool in the hands of the people of Kurdistan to secure its rights and achievements, to deepen its pluralism, brotherhood, coexistence and to maintain its leading role in all areas of Kurdistan's political life.

The establishment of the KDP in other parts of Kurdistan was also a source of hope and resilience, and the birth of the KDP was a new beginning for the struggle, self-determination, and redress. It is a matter of pride that the KDP has not tied itself to any ideology of chauvinism and extremism, and has become an umbrella for all ethnic and religious elements in Kurdistan to come together and make itself an unprecedented and prosperous political achievement in Kurdistan. The party has always been the bearer of the message of peace and has always been ready to defend the Kurds and Kurdistan.

At the moment, the stability and protection of Kurdistan, the strengthening of coexistence, support, brotherhood and harmony between all parties and political parties, and the strengthening of the institutions of the region are the main priorities of the party's policy. The party also emphasizes that the legitimate cause of the Kurdistan people needs to be resolved through reconciliation, understanding, and the end of the language of denial and impositions. The situation in Iraq is unfortunate, and the causes of terrorism and instability remain. At the same time, we believe that Iraq's next election could be a good way to renew the political process and strengthen the will of its citizens to change and achieve stability.

On this holy anniversary, all parties must be at the forefront of the great history and sacrifices of their party, and do not forget that the party has a cause and has the approach of Mustafa Barzani, and was founded for the salvation and service of Kurdistan. They need to face challenges more often, use their opportunities to strengthen Kurdistan and do their best to promote unity, coexistence and reconstruction in Kurdistan.
