Constituents in the Kurdistan Parliament: Our rights need to be protected in the constitution

Representatives of the constituents in the Kurdistan Parliament are busy preparing their submissions and comments on the constitution of the Kurdistan Region, emphasizing that the constitution of the Kurdistan Region needs to be preserved in a way that protects the rights of all constituents.

"As a Turkmen entity, we have held several meetings with all parties on the constitution and we want to unite in the same package," said Himdad Sabah, head of the Turkmen front faction in the Kurdistan Parliament, to the KDP's official website.

"We will get our experts in the field of law and constitution, so a committee has been formed and everyone's opinion will be received and we will then submit our report to the Speaker of Parliament, ”he said.

"We want a constitution that is in place for all constituents, and for the rights of the constituents to be politically, administratively and nationally protected," Sabah said.

"We need to protect the rights of all citizens in the constitution, and as a Christian entity, we must be busy preparing our views and presenting them to the presidency," Robina Litari, a Christian representative in the Kurdistan Parliament, told the KDP's official website.

"We want the constitution to define the rights of the Assyrians and to ensure that all elements have their rights, and we support a constitution for the Kurdistan Region, which guarantees the rights of all parties and structures, as well as the constitution of the Kurdistan Region," Litari said.

"Let it be an umbrella for all parties, that we should all come together under the shadow of that umbrella." She added.
