Twelve people were injured in an explosion at an Ahwaz chemical plant

Iranian officials said on Friday that a bomb explosion in a chemical plant in the southern Iranian city of Ahwaz, killing at least 12 people and wounding dozens, and they were able to control the fire after a great effort.

"A bomb blast at a chemical plant in the southern Iranian city of Ahwaz has killed at least 12 people and injured dozens more, officials in the Iranian city of Ahwazi,", the head of the city's fire and safety services organization, Ibrahim Qanbari told ISNA News Agency on Friday.

Qanbari further clarified that the blast took place at a chemical plant in the southern Iranian city of Ahwaz and that 180 firefighters and 25 fire trucks were involved in the fire control.

It is worth mentioning that on the 8th of this month, an explosion occurred at a petrochemical company in the Aslawi region of Iran in the south of the country, killing one person and injuring two others.
