AP: "7 approved for June 18 presidential election" in Iran
Erbil- The Associated Press reports from Iran's state-run television that only seven people have been approved for the Iranian presidential election, which is set to take place on June 18.
The report did not name those who were approved and only mentioned the number, which was also quoted by Abbas Ali Kadkhodaei, the Guardian Council's spokesman.
However, it is claimed that Iran’s judiciary chief Ebrahim Raisi, a hard-line cleric who ran against Rouhani in 2017, is among the analysts the strongest candidate in the June 18 vote.
